PRESENTATION, PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT & PITCH TRAINING
Live, in-person training | Practical, skills-focused learning
How do I look and sound natural?
What do I do with my hands?
How do I engage an audience with a dry subject?
If you’ve ever asked yourself these questions, you’re not alone and it’s time to talk to Mentor. Our presentation and engagement training is designed to help you communicate with confidence, clarity and impact, whatever the setting.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

We also work with organisations on public engagement, supporting teams involved in consultations, information drop-ins, conferences and hearings.
Our simple, effective approach helps you communicate plans clearly, build trust and avoid missteps that can lead to frustration, anger or disengagement.
This is a highly practical, hands-on programme, focused on real situations you face at work meetings, presentations, pitches, public forums and online delivery.
You will learn how to:
-
Present naturally and confidently without feeling scripted
-
Use body language, voice and presence effectively
-
Engage audiences, even when the subject matter is complex or technical
-
Structure presentations that are clear, persuasive and memorable
-
Deliver confident pitches where so much can hang on getting it right
-
Develop better video content for websites, social media and internal communications
-
Improve on-camera performance for live and recorded video
-
Present more effectively in remote and online environments
Sessions may include video production, scriptwriting, presenting, filming and using tools such as live streaming. Our trainers focus on developing the best version of ‘you’, not a one-size-fits-all presentation style.

We offer live, in-person training, as well as short remote courses designed to fit around busy diaries - including concise online sessions you can take over a lunch break.
If you want your message to land, your pitch to resonate and your audience to stay with you, preparation matters.
WHO IS IT AIMED AT?
This training is ideal for:
-
Leaders and professionals who present regularly at meetings or events
-
Teams pitching for funding, contracts or new business
-
Spokespeople and subject experts explaining complex or sensitive topics
-
Communications and engagement teams working with communities and stakeholders
-
Anyone producing video content for internal or external audiences
-
Professionals who want to feel more confident presenting online or remotely

Strategic Media Training
Great trainers, highly engaging. I definitely feel better equipped for handling these sort of situations in the future. Definitely worth the investment and I would say it is essential for anyone in a role that may be asked to represent the force in the media. Appreciating the transferable skills is an added extra.
Chief Superintendent, Sussex Police
Dave and Rachel recently ran a strategic media training session with our senior exec team at Fairhive and it’s always a pleasure when we work with them. They are professional trainers with a dedication to helping individuals. Throughout the session they demonstrated a deep knowledge of strategic media providing an individualised training session with both local and national examples. They were able to keep the group engaged and positive and have the ability to adapt to the needs of each participant; providing constructive feedback during the recording element of the training.

An afternoon doing Media training with Dave Mason from Mentor was pure gold for me. It was fun, challenging and full of journalistic and business insight. Dave is a seasoned professional whose understanding of print, broadcast and social media is hard to fault. His real skill is to help you articulate your own story and ensure that you enter any media interview on the front foot, with an arsenal of tactics to help you. I can’t recommend him highly enough.
Professor Tansy Jessop, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Education, University of Bristol
Thanks for the engaging and knowledgeable session. It was great for our senior team to have the opportunity to practice and gain feedback in a real studio setting that the Mentor Media Training team made feel very relaxed. We look forward to putting it into practice.

Crisis Training
Thank you so much for the training yesterday. It was the perfect combination of insight and practical application, brought to life through the experience, knowledge and the stories yourself and Chris shared. We all enjoyed the day and took so much from it: definitely one of the best training sessions I’ve been on.
Juliet Allister, Head of Brand and Sustainability, Cornish Mutual
Thanks to Mentor for a brilliant day of training around crisis comms. It’s amazing how comfortable you can get in front of the camera if you just follow the techniques! Really worthwhile business continuity preparation for the team.

Presentation
Hugely informative. Getting a ‘magic formula’ for structuring a presentation and targeting the audience was most useful. Relaxed and professional tutoring.
