This course was excellent! – really useful in teaching us to ensure we get our message across to the media.

Hugely informative. Getting a ‘magic formula’ for structuring a presentation and targeting the audience was most useful. Relaxed and professional tutoring.

Media Interviews - Tips and Advice
When a journalist comes calling:
Never talk off the cuff. Always buy time to prepare. So offer to phone them back.
Only agree to talk about what you know about. If you can't help offer to get someone who can.
Ask for information on the scope of the enquiry.
Always appear helpful, and be positive. An interview is an invaluable opportunity.
Be prepared. Make sure you have all the information you need to give. How is it a story?
What journalists want is a good story.
If you have a PR or Comms adviser make sure you speak to them first
There is no such thing as off the record.
Never talk about anything you haven't prepared.
